Introduction
Welcome to the Real Issues website for Sunderland. This site is designed for children and young people living in Sunderland who are disabled, have special educational needs, or a long term health condition, and their families. It will also be a useful resource for the professionals working with them.

The site is designed to pull all the information families tell us they need into one place. In the Information Directory you will find entries about a whole range of specialist and mainstream services and organisations, organised under convenient headings. There are newsletters and application forms which can be downloaded, and links into other sites of interest. Children and young people can go to the Young People’s Pages to find information written especially with them in mind. What’s On contains details of the latest local and national events, while News is regularly updated to keep you informed of what is happening in the area of child health, disability and special educational needs, both in Sunderland, the UK and the world.
